Preserving History, Living the Present
Revitalized Heritage: Seven Apartments, One New Purpose.
This project began with an abandoned building located in the heart of Braga’s historic center, whose architectural identity and heritage value required a careful and sensitive intervention. The objective was to transform a deteriorated property into a contemporary residential development while preserving its urban memory.
The original façade was fully maintained and restored, ensuring the continuity of the area’s architectural language and full compliance with the demanding rehabilitation regulations applicable to the city’s historic center. The entire process was carried out in close collaboration with the relevant authorities, ensuring respect for the regulatory specificities that characterize this type of intervention.
Behind the preserved façade, a new building was developed, comprising seven exclusive apartments, each designed in a customized manner according to the preferences and needs of each client. The intervention also included the installation of an elevator, a key improvement to guarantee full accessibility and enhance the building’s comfort and functionality, without compromising its historical integration.
The final result is a development that combines history and modernity, respecting the heritage context and offering new ways of living in the center of Braga, fully integrated with its historical character.
